In the first live webinar of ISMA’s 2023 Opioid Webinar Series, INSPECT Director Kara Slusser will discuss practitioners’ use of INSPECT and its integration of patients’ controlled-substance prescription histories into EHRs and pharmacy management systems. She will also discuss recent changes to related statutes, regulations and guidelines, as well as NarxCare, an enhancement to INSPECT now available through paid integration. Each webinar in the series counts toward the 2.0 hours of CME on opioid prescribing and abuse needed to renew a Controlled Substance Registration by Oct. 31, 2023.

2023 Coding Updates

In Part 1, Carol Hoppe, CPC, of MedLucid Solutions LLC, will give updates on new ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, new E/M guidelines, and effects of the end of public health emergency guidelines. In this two-part webinar series, Carol Hoppe, CPC, health care consultant with MedLucid Solutions LLC, will give an update on Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) expirations and the end of the federal public health emergency (PHE) as it relates to Medicare and Medicaid billing/coding for telehealth, etc. She will further address 2023 CPT code set updates and changes in coding and documentation for evaluation-and-management (E/M) services. These changes are the result of landmark reforms to minimize administrative burdens that were implemented last year for E/M services performed in outpatient and office settings. Starting Jan. 1, the updates will be implemented across all health care settings.
