Register now for the 170th Annual ISMA Convention, Sept. 13-15 at the new Embassy Suites
by Hilton Noblesville Conference Center. The
centerpiece of convention is the annual meeting of
the ISMA House of Delegates, when representatives
from ISMA districts around the state discuss and
vote on resolutions submitted by members and
medical societies. Adopted resolutions become part
of ISMA policy and set our organization’s legislative
agenda. Learn more and register at
www.ismanet.org/convention.
AMA President to address HOD
Patrice Harris, MD, president of the American Medical Association, will address the House of Delegates on Sunday. A psychiatrist from Atlanta, Dr. Harris is the first African American president of the AMA and has diverse experience as a practicing physician, public
health administrator, patient advocate and medical society lobbyist. Since 2014, she has chaired the AMA Opioid Task Force.
President’s Night plans set
This year’s President’s Night festivities include
a cocktail reception and dinner; business or
dressier attire is suggested. President Stacie
Wenk, DO, invites attendees to conclude the
evening with a nightcap and conversation in the
President’s Suite.
Singer, musical act needed!
We’re still looking for ISMA members – students, residents or longtime physicians – to sing the national anthem at Sunday’s House of Delegates and to provide background music on President’s Night. If you want to volunteer or
know someone else who would like to perform,
let Director of Membership and Marketing
Dave Albin know as soon as possible at
dalbin@ismanet.org or 1-317-261-2060.
