AMA president, Indiana governor to give remarks
 
 
AMA President Bruce A. Scott, MD, will present in person, and Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb will give recorded remarks, during the House of Delegates at the 175th Annual ISMA Convention. The governor’s welcome will be played on Sept. 7 and the AMA president’s remarks will occur on Sept. 8.

Bruce A. Scott, MD, was elected AMA president in June 2024. Prior to being voted president-elect, Dr. Scott served four years as speaker and four years as vice speaker of the AMA House of Delegates. Before that, he was a member of the AMA House of Delegates for over 20 years and was a young physician member on the AMA Board of Trustees. Dr. Scott has been president of his county and state medical associations and has served on the boards of the Greater Louisville Medical Society and the Kentucky Medical Association (KMA) for over 20 years. 

Gov. Eric Holcomb is Indiana’s 51st governor and is serving his second term. A lifelong Hoosier, Gov. Holcomb is a U.S. Navy veteran who served as an advisor to Gov. Mitch Daniels and Sen. Dan Coats. He was appointed Indiana’s lieutenant governor in 2016 by Gov. Mike Pence, and elected to his first term as governor eight months later.
