Register for July’s WIM forum, 2025 retreat details announced

On July 16, Arpita Gupta DePalma, MD, pediatrician and CEO of Thought Work, MD, will present "Processing Your Emotions Through Grace, Vulnerability, and Forgiveness” as part of the Women In Medicine Virtual Discussion Forum series.

Dr. DePalma's presentation will review how anger, which may be a result of burnout, is often a secondary emotion that feels better and more powerful compared to other negative emotions. The discussion will review the common origins of anger, develop a customized anger protocol, and discuss techniques to build mental muscle and encourage forgiveness.

WIM Virtual Discussion Forums typically begin with a brief opening presentation, followed by a facilitated group discussion, and last an hour. All female ISMA members are encouraged to participate in the Zoom sessions.

Register now for Dr. DePalma's presentation, and for WIM's Nov. 19 forum, "Trauma Informed Care for Self and Others," at the links below. The Nov. 19 forum will offer CME credit.

2025 WIM Retreat date and location planned
After a record-setting turnout for the 2024 Women in Medicine Retreat, ISMA is preparing for an even bigger event next year!

The 2025 WIM Retreat will be held on Feb. 1 at the critically acclaimed Hotel Carmichael in downtown Carmel. Hotel Carmichael, an Autograph Collection Hotel, is an architectural masterpiece inspired in part by the work of 18th-century architect Robert Adam. The venue delivers a distinguished hospitality experience, offering dining, refined meeting spaces, and thoughtful details like daily live music.

Like this past February’s event, the 2025 WIM Retreat will offer CME and feature high-profile speakers discussing current issues in health care. Additional details will be announced in the coming months, including speakers and special hotel room rates. ISMA will update members via its biweekly newsletter and email.
