IHCP adds telehealth codes, lists quarterly coverage and billing updates
The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP, or Indiana Medicaid) has added coverage in response to telehealth billing guidance contained in SEA 284 (Telehealth matters), passed by the 2022 Indiana General Assembly. IHCP also provided notice of changes in coverage and billing guidelines made in response to the July 2022 quarterly Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) update.

Bulletin BT202249: This bulletin specifies additional codes to be included under the telehealth medical services category for all IHCP programs that offer telehealth services. The newly added codes will be effective for dates of service (DOS) on or after July 21. The services are only available via telehealth for members who would have access to the same services if they were rendered in person.

Bulletin BT202251: BT202251 provides information on coverage and billing guidelines determined by IHCP after review of the July 2022 quarterly Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) update. The information provided in the bulletin is effective for dates of service (DOS) on or after July 1, 2022, unless otherwise specified.
