ISMA updates guidance for e-prescribing of controlled substances
The ISMA has updated its guidance for the electronic prescribing of controlled substances to reflect recent changes in state and federal laws and regulations, including that Indiana’s electronic prescribing requirement for controlled substances now takes effect on Jan. 1, 2022.

The updated guidance also contains information on the exceptions available under state law, as well as the circumstances under which a prescriber may seek a waiver from the state e-prescribing requirement. The guidance is available here.
