Registration open for Physician Wellness Symposium

Accomplished psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Robert J. Waldinger, MD, will deliver the keynote address at ISMA's inaugural Physician Wellness Symposium during the 175th Annual Convention this fall.

The all-day symposium, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 6, will offer CME and be held at the Embassy Suites in Plainfield.

Dr. Waldinger is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he directs the Harvard Study of Adult Development, the longest scientific study of happiness ever conducted. Among his many works, Dr. Waldinger is the author of “The Good Life,” which examines the central role of relationships in shaping our health and well-being. Symposium attendees will receive a copy of "The Good Life," and a book signing will follow Dr. Waldinger's presentation.

The symposium is intended to prioritize the well-being of physicians and health care professionals, recognizing their pivotal role in health care systems and offering strategies and resources to promote wellness and resilience.

Registration for the symposium is now open. The symposium fee is $50 for ISMA physician members, $100 for physician nonmembers, and $25 for residents and medical students. Registration for convention weekend and the Physician Wellness Symposium are separate since the symposium is open to nonmembers. If you plan to attend BOTH the convention and the symposium, you must sign up for each separately. Convention registration can be found at www.ismanet.org/convention

As the symposium’s full schedule is finalized, additional information will be shared via e-Reports, email, and at www.ismanet.org.
