Candidates may now declare their intent to run for ISMA office before elections during the 175th Annual Convention in September.
ISMA officers elected at convention include the president-elect, speaker, vice speaker, treasurer and assistant treasurer. These positions serve one-year terms.
AMA delegates and alternate delegates, who serve two-year terms and are elected on a staggered basis, will also be elected during convention. This year, in addition to four naturally open seats (two delegates, two alternate delegates) in the delegation, an election will be held to fill the spot of David Welsh, MD, who can no longer serve as a delegate following his
election to the AMA Board of Trustees. Whoever is elected to Dr. Welsh’s seat will serve for one year before the seat opens back up for election to a two-year term.
A candidate for delegate or ISMA office must have been an active ISMA member for the past two years to be eligible. Only those who submit the form at
www.ismanet.org/CandidateForm will be announced in ISMA publications.
Nominations may be made at any House of Delegates session and remain open until elections occur at convention. Officers serve until their successor is installed.
