ISMA continues support of med schools’ wellness symposium
ISMA was proud once again to be a sponsor of the Finding Inspiration and Resilience in Medicine (FIRM) symposium, held April 23 at the Ascension St. Vincent William K. Nasser Simulation Center in Indianapolis.

The annual symposium is a collaboration between Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM)  and Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) focused on improving the well-being of medical students, residents and faculty and of other medical professional students. This year’s theme was “Mind Body Medicine;” sessions aimed to empower attendees to take charge of their own well-being by providing realistic and actionable strategies.

ISMA helped to arrange for member and physician wellness advocate Curt Ward, MD, of Ascension St. Vincent, to lead a session on “The Power of Positive Thinking.” ISMA Medical Student Society members were also on hand to provide information and answer questions about ISMA, including (from left) MSS President Danny Luong, MU-COM; Kavya Akella, MU-COM; Meghna Peesapati, vice president of membership for MU-COM; and Meg Tharp, IUSM.
