ISMA leadership attended the AMA National Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC, last week, where they listened to featured speakers Mark Cuban and Sanjay Gupta, MD. They also visited Indiana lawmakers on the Hill, passing letters and contact information for the future.


ISMA leadership was able to circulate a letter on funding for the Lorna Breen Act to Indiana political leaders

Among the leaders that ISMA attendees met was Representative Victoria Spartz (IN-05). Chair of Commission

and ISMA Executive Vice President Julie Reed, JD, met at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.
 


Christina Walker, MD; Apoorva Tummala, MD; Francesca Mancuso, MD; and David Welsh, MD; dropped off letters
to Congressman André Carson (D-IN) while at the AMA NAC.



Senator Jim Banks (R-IN) and his staff met with Chair of the ISMA Commission on Legislation J. Elizabeth Struble, MD
during the time the leadership team was in Washington, DC.
