Krista Rutherford began her position as ISMA’s managing editor on March 17. She has worked as a journalist and in marketing and communications positions for Trine University, Indiana Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) and Boone REMC. She ran her own marketing company for five years. She has also taught high school English, journalism and special education courses. 

“I remember attending many ISMA events as a child because my stepfather (Michael Mellinger, MD) was very involved in the organization,” Krista said. “I thought I wanted to be a lobbyist all through college. I always mentioned working for an organization like ISMA.  I became a writer instead. Now that I am working for ISMA, it does seem like my dreams came true.”
