February intern will assist at Physician Advocacy Day
ISMA members attending Physician Advocacy Day will have an opportunity to meet ISMA’s newest intern, David Randall, a fourth-year medicine student at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Randall will be interning in Government Affairs with Director of Policy and Government Affairs Doug Boyle in February.

He will be assisting with Physician Advocacy Day, preparing State House testimonials, and monitoring and prioritizing health-related bills in the Indiana General Assembly.

“I am a strong proponent for the continued improvement of public health and healthcare communication,” Randall said. “It is the role of the physician to have an understanding of local policy and advocate for the betterment of their patients' lives.  However, one cannot effectively advocate without a deeper understanding of how policy changes and governmental bodies function, an understanding that is gained through experience.”

Randall plans to enter radiation oncology after a transitional year starting in July 2026.
