The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) announced in IHCP Bulletin BT2023149 new updates to the 2024 Professional Fee Schedule, effective Jan. 1, 2024.

The IHCP Professional Fee Schedule has been aligned with 100% of Medicare rates. Rates for Hoosier Healthwise, Hoosier Care Connect and fee-for-service (FFS) programs have been increased to 100% of Medicare rates to align with Healthy Indiana Program (HIP) rates, effective Jan. 1. 

The 2024 Professional Fee Schedule has been implemented as a minimum fee schedule for all managed care plans, and managed care entities are required to reimburse providers at or above the fee schedule rates for services covered under the member’s benefit plan.

The IHCP announced Jan. 23 it has identified an issue with some procedure code reimbursement for providers that submitted claims for dates of service (DOS) in 2023 that were adjudicated beginning Dec. 31, 2023, through Jan. 14, 2024, through the FFS delivery system.

Affected claims will be mass-adjusted. Providers should see adjusted claims on remittance advices (RAs), beginning immediately, with expected completion within two weeks. Adjustments will be identified with internal control numbers (ICNs)/Claim IDs that begin with 52 (mass replacements non-check related).

Providers may also edit claims through a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant 837P transaction or through the IHCP Provider Healthcare Portal.
