ISMA’s advocacy in 2021 depends on your support
Ask ISMA District 7 President Robert Flint, MD, PhD, why he’s an ISMA member, and he’ll tell you about the power of a unified physician voice in shaping legislation. Many times, the Indianapolis neurologist has seen ISMA’s advocacy turn a potentially harmful bill into one that protects physicians’ ability to provide the best possible care. Now, with the 2021 legislative session approaching, renewing your dues is more important than ever.

“ISMA has worked for many years to protect physicians against developments that threaten their ability to practice medicine and care for patients,” said Dr. Flint, an ISMA member since 1992. “Attempts to alter the malpractice cap, scope of practice expansion, increasing regulation and demands on physicians’ time, dwindling access to physicians for some patient populations and the rising cost of health care – these issues are not going away.”

“I’ve seen firsthand how ISMA’s advocacy has turned the legislative tide even when the odds were against us,” he said.” Your continuing membership helps ensure that we can continue to overcome these challenges as we maximize physician impact and drive the future of health care.”

Besides funding our advocacy, your ISMA membership entitles you to many exclusive benefits. Members are eligible to purchase PPE and telehealth services at reasonable rates and receive discounts on ProAssurance malpractice insurance and Anthem insurance products sponsored by the ISMA Insurance Agency. In addition, our ISMA Reports, e-Reports and Legislative News publications keep you informed. To learn more, visit www.ismanet.org/benefits.

ISMA offers a discount on membership for individual physicians who make a multiyear payment and for groups of five or more with at least 75% participation; more information on dues discounts is available here. And, 74% of your dues is tax-deductible.

To make sure you don’t miss out on any of these benefits, please remit your dues for 2021 at your earliest convenience. Dues may be mailed back to ISMA or paid online, and renewals must be received by Jan. 15 to keep your membership current. If you have questions about dues or the membership renewal process; please contact Vicki Riley at vriley@ismanet.org or (317) 454-7735.

Thank you once again for your invaluable support.
