Berman honored

Congratulations to ISMA Communications Manager Eric Berman (center), who was named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Gov. Eric Holcomb on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The Sagamore award was established in 1946 as Indiana’s highest honor, until the creation of the once-a-year Sachem Award in 2005. Before joining ISMA, Berman reported on politics and government for 28 years for WIBC-FM in Indianapolis, serving as Indiana Statehouse bureau chief for the station and the statewide radio news service Network Indiana. In a brief presentation, Gov. Holcomb paid tribute to Berman’s long tenure, taking special note of his daily commitment to delivering reliable, factual information during the COVID-19 pandemic. Attending the presentation were ISMA Deputy Director of Policy Luke McNamee, JD; Vice President of Government Affairs John Ruckelshaus; and Senior Director of Membership and Marketing Dave Albin.
