ISMA members in the Bloomington area are invited to attend Monroe Owen County Medical Society’s Enigma offering on Jan. 23 at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts, 202 South Rogers St., Bloomington. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by case studies presented by Lee McKinley, MD, and Duangnapa Cuddy, DO.

Dr. McKinley’s presentation, “Honey, Please Ask the Kroger Butcher for Some Braunschweiger,” will focus on improving and updating differential diagnosis of febrile illnesses in adults, and culture vs. non-culture testing for systemic infections such as PCR, nucleic acid detection, and metagenomic next-generation sequencing.

Dr. Cuddy will present “Caring for the Vascular and Surgical Patient As a Whole: A Humanitarian Approach,” which will discuss comorbidities to vascular disease, potential medical and psychosocial factors that may decrease the effectiveness and positive long-term outcomes of vascular surgical treatment, and the significance of psychosocial support to the healing process and long-term outcome of vascular surgical treatment.

There is a $10 registration fee for non-MOCMS members, and a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits will be awarded to attendees. Contact Dave Burnworth at director@mocms.org to register, and please mail your check by Jan. 13, payable to MOCMS, PO Box 3211, Bloomington, IN 47402.
