Psychiatric Society joins front lines of Indiana Physician Coalition
The Indiana Psychiatric Society is the latest of Indiana’s specialty societies to take on stakeholder status with the Indiana Physician Coalition, the ISMA committee working to defend physician-led medical care.

The Physician Coalition was founded in 2020 to educate legislators about the risks of granting independent practice authority to nonphysician members of health care teams. Recent studies have found states and federal agencies that have adopted independent practice have seen higher costs and lower-quality patient care.
