Sign up to serve as a Physician of the Day in 2026
ISMA is seeking volunteers to serve as Physician of the Day at the Statehouse during the month of February for the 2026 Indiana General Assembly.

In addition to staffing the Physician of the Day office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., participants are introduced before the House and Senate and can observe the legislative process in action. Serving in the Physician of the Day office also offers a chance to discuss important issues with state senators and representatives.

This one-day commitment entails being available to treat minor ailments of legislators and their staff; volunteers must also be comfortable performing CPR. Residents and medical students are not eligible to volunteer as Physician of the Day.
