On Jan. 23, 2026, ISMA  proudly observes Health Care Continuing Education Professionals Day™, a meaningful day dedicated to honoring the exceptional individuals who ensure healthcare providers remain informed, skilled and prepared to deliver outstanding patient care. 

“Until I served on ISMA’ s commission on medical education, I was not aware of all the review and expertise that goes on behind the scenes to accredit organizations that provide continuing medical education,” Lisa Hatcher, MD, said. “The scrutiny and oversight that continuing medical education professionals provide to ensure that programming content is scientifically valid and unbiased is amazing to me.”

Continuing education professionals play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare. Through the development and delivery of high-quality educational programs, they promote lifelong learning, support professional growth and contribute directly to improved health outcomes.
