Program description:

Join us for an enlightening new webinar series on the innovative direct primary care (DPC) model. With a combined 30 years of experience in this field, Matthew Priddy, MD, and Jonathan Schmidt, MD, of Priority Physicians, will guide you through the intricacies of practicing primary care outside a traditional insurance framework.


Objectives:

At the end of this live webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize the benefits to the general health care system of having more physicians and patients utilizing the direct primary care (DPC) model.
  • Understand how a focus on prevention benefits the patient, physicians and the overall system.
  • Summarize the market forces behind DPC, and what happens now that private equity money is flowing in.
  • Explain the rise of corporate DPC practices.

About the speaker:

Matthew Priddy, MD, is board-certified in family medicine, serves on the Board of Directors for the ROAMD Physicians Network, and was president of the American Academy of Private Physicians (AAPP) from 2014-2015. Dr. Priddy completed his training at IU School of Medicine and his residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, serving as chief resident in his final year.

A second-generation physician and 2013 honoree of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40, Dr. Priddy has advocated for the cause of direct primary care for more than a decade and is passionate about the positive outcomes and improved patient experience offered with the DPC model.



Jonathan Schmidt, MD

About the speaker:

Jonathan Schmidt, MD, is a board-certified physician in family medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in microbiology from Southern Illinois University and went on to the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Schmidt moved to South Bend, where he completed his family medicine residency at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, serving as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Schmidt also sought out experience in direct practice medicine during his residency and is excited to be practicing in a way that allows him to put the needs of his patients first.
