Program description:

Communities around the world have been living with COVID-19 for two years. In that time, we have learned that the illness can be unpredictable.

While the medical community has primarily focused on meeting the needs of acutely ill COVID-19 patients, some who have recovered continue to experience symptoms. Community Healthcare System in northern Indiana has established a team of multidisciplinary specialists to guide recommended testing and treatments for these COVID-19 “long-haulers” at its COVID Clinic.

New research on the long-term effects of COVID-19, also called “long COVID-19,” is helping to shape screening and treatment options for these patients. In this webinar, Thomas Wilkins, DO, will share the cohesive approach that Community Healthcare’s COVID Clinic is using to treat recovered COVID patients who have lingering symptoms.

Objectives:

At the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  1. Define post-COVID-19 syndrome (“long COVID”) and recognize common persistent symptoms.
  2. Properly evaluate patients experiencing post-COVID-19 syndrome.
  3. Create an individualized treatment plan for patients experiencing post-COVID-19 (“long-hauler”) syndrome.

Speaker:

Thomas Wilkins, DO
Family Medicine Physician
Community Healthcare System COVID Clinic
