Series description:

ISMA Women in Medicine (WIM) Discussion Forum sessions take place on Tuesdays every other month and are scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. ET via Zoom. All female ISMA members are welcome to join to connect, network and discuss topics of special significance to female physicians today.

Program description:

On life’s journey, we have bumps in the road and sometimes come to dead ends. This can be financial, relational, personal or related to our careers.  Having a road map of where we are heading is important in order to retrace our steps and find another way. To start, having a road map in advance by setting clear financial goals can help us be intentional with our money and our time.

If you find yourself straying off course, it is time to reassess your goals. Is something more important than you originally thought? Did the power of instant gratification overcome the reward of a slow and steady race? Or are you using spending to try to cover uncomfortable emotions? Using words like always, never, and can’t are words of dead ends. Hope is extremely powerful, and recalibrating your mindset to realize there are other paths to where you want to go is powered by bigger picture thinking. If you feel like you are drowning, it is time to start from square one and prioritize your values.

In this session, Anna McKeone, MD will discuss how to get on a healthy financial road to your freedom.

Objectives:

At the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Establish a healthy approach without being stressed about money.
  • Create a zero-based budget to maximize each dollar spent for cost effectiveness.
  • Educate how to obtain financial freedom through basic budgeting, debt reduction, and smart maintenance.

Speaker:

Anna McKeone, MD, FACEP
Emergency medicine physician and president, Olympia Emergency Services, PLLC

About our speaker:

Dr. McKeone is a practicing emergency medicine physician at a community hospital in Olympia, Washington. She enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
