Hoosier physicians who want to become more competent in treating patients who use e-cigarettes and other vaping devices have a new resource: the Indiana Teen Vaping TeleECHO Clinic. The program’s goal is to increase the availability of care so that patients across the state can receive the treatment they need in their home communities.
The free virtual learning network, offered by the IU School of Medicine and the Indiana State Department of Health, meets through Zoom on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Eastern time through Nov. 2. Panelists include specialists in behavioral health, adolescent medicine, social work, pharmacy, pulmonology, cardiothoracic surgery, tobacco cessation, education, law and public health. During each session, participants mentor one another and share their expertise in brief lectures and discussion of deidentified patient cases submitted by participants.
