A new state law requires all holders of a controlled
substance registration (CSR) to register with
INSPECT, Indiana’s prescription drug monitoring
program, by Jan. 1. Failure to register is a Class A
misdemeanor. Also starting Jan. 1, CSR holders in
hospital EDs and pain clinics must query INSPECT
before prescribing or dispensing opioids or
benzodiazepines. To see these and other important
dates for INSPECT law compliance, visit

Also, plan to attend our free CME webinar Jan. 17. Stacy Cook, JD, of Barnes & Thornburg LLC, will give an
update on new Iaws regarding mandatory INSPECT
registration and queries, as well as the new opioid
CME requirement. Learn more:
