CMS releases 2013 proposed rules for Medicare Physician Fee Schedule

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the 2013 proposed physician fee schedule rules. The rules are currently available here and will be published in the Federal Register on July 30, 2012.
The comment period ends on 60 days after the date of public inspection which is July 30, 2012.
The proposed rule does include a proposed increase in payment to family physicians by approximately 7%. It has also proposed a 3 to 5% increase for other practitioners providing primary care services.
